Renee, Jenina: Playful Magic

Llewellyn, St Paul, MN 1994 ISBN 0-87542-678-6

This delightful book offers many ways to lighten up one's spiritual practice. The premise is that if we can give up the desperation that many of us bring to magic when something matters to us a great deal, work our magic, and leave the outcome to Goddess and God, we may have greater success. The author also asserts that a childlike sense of play, wonder, and trust can aid one's magic. I wouldn't suggest working with this book without some grounding in magical practice and ethics from someone who takes teaching those things a bit more seriously. But some of her suggestions are wonderful and powerful. I used it as a workbook one Springtime when I wanted to work with my inner children...they all loved it!. ~WS
