Knight, Gareth, The Secret Tradition in Arthurian Legend

Samuel Wiser, York Beach, Main 1996 ISBN 0-87728-861-5

Knight is an accomplished esotericist, and it shows all the way through this fascinating book. He deals with the characters and situations within the Arthurian Legend as archetypes, and makes sense of some of the elements of the legends that have always puzzled me: Guinevere's infertility, the role of Mordred and the necessity of his birth, and the deterioration of the Round Table after the achievement of the Grail. If you have studied the legends and want to take your understanding deeper, this is well worth reading. ~WS
